Denis Rioux est artiste visuel, commissaire et enseignant. Il a obtenu son diplôme (PhD) en recherche-création en photographie dans le cadre du doctorat en Études et pratiques des arts de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Ses œuvres ont été exposées au Québec et au Canada, ainsi qu’à l’étranger à la galerie SIM Reykjavik où il a été invité pour une résidence de création à l’été 2012. Il a été commissaire de l’exposition «La matérialité photographique» qui rassemble le travail de 9 artistes canadiens. Il enseigne la photographie à l’Université du Québec à Montréal depuis 2009. Denis Rioux is a visual artist, curator and educator. He received his PhD’s in Art Theory and Practice, with specialization in photography, at Université du Québec à Montréal, where he also teaches photography since 2009. He is the curator of the exhibition “ The Photographic Materiality”. He has had is work exhibited in several galleries in Quebec, Canada and also abroad at the SIM Art Gallery in Reykjavik, where he was invited for an art residency in the summer of 2012.
