Margot Klingender was born in 1991 in Edmonton, Alberta, and currently lives and works in Montréal where she is Assistant Professor of Drawing (Limited Term Appointment) at Concordia University.

Margot Klingender was born in 1991 in Edmonton, Alberta, and currently lives and works in Montréal where she is Assistant Professor of Drawing (LTA) at Concordia University. In 2019 she presented a solo exhibition at Galerie Pangée before participating in two international art fairs: Material Art Fair in Mexico City, and Art Toronto. She has completed several residencies, including a partnership between the Slade Research Institute and the Camden Arts Centre in London, England. Her work has been included in various group exhibitions, most recently Hors Champ (Le Livart), and Et dis-moi: why is the past tense always longer? (Stewart Hall Gallery, Montréal). She is the recipient of several grants and awards including Conseil des Arts de Montréal’s grant for d/Deaf and disabled artists (2024), CCA Explore and Create (2023), and the Dale and Nick Tedeschi Fellowship (2017). Her work can be found in private collections throughout North and Central America.
