The most recent paintings are from a group called ‘Cosmic Graffiti”. The artist’s goal is to examine the interior of the human form, including cells photographed with scanning electron microscopy, as well as images of galaxies, nebulae and black holes from Hubble telescopic research…and through this visual journey to return with evidence of the one-ness of all things. A related idea, interbeing, a term coined by Zen master Thich Nhat Hahn, explains the concept that we do not exist independently—-we inter-are. As an example a tree cannot exist without the sun, the rain and the earth and its atmosphere.
In summary, this work is examining the relationships between the macrocosm and the microcosm and weaving together threads of science and art.
